“Gun Reform Now” demand protesters at NRA vigil

An estimated 300 protesters showed up Tuesday evening, Aug. 5, to protest gun violence — and especially last weekend’s devastating attacks in El Paso and Dayton — at the headquarters of the NRA in Fairfax. There was a candle lighting ceremony and the names and ages of the victims were read by different speakers for El Paso and Dayton, followed by moments of silence.

Protesters opposed NRA support for teachers to carry firearms in school
Many vigil attendees decried the deepening polarization in America that leads to increased gun violence

US Rep. Jennifer Wexton (D- 10) and state Del. Marcus Simon (D- 53) (back to camera at left) joined protesters at the NRA vigil. Also attending was Dan Helmer, Democratic candidate for state delegate in the 40th district.

Every month a vigil is held at NRA headquarters, sponsored, by, among other, Concerned Citizens Against Gun Violence.
